| Accountability/ Neal Cole: Cultivating a life for God | |
| How many times have we committed a "secret" sin while thinking "No one will know about this, I'm not going to get caught so that makes it OK." Well despite our best intentions, secret sins aren't really secret and they are no more OK then blatantly open sins. We all know that we are less likely to do the "silly little things" if there is any chance someone will find out. With accountability in place, men will be more alert to the temptations around them and less likely to give in. | |
| Service | |
| The bible tells us it is the responsibility of the body of Christ (you and I) to help "the least of these." A service program in your men's ministry is a must to teach men to step outside of their own little world and out into the needy world around them. | |
| Mentoring/ Dr. Darryl Donovan: Men Mentoring Men | |
| When a young man comes to Christ his brothers in faith are responsible for being a living example for him to follow. As believers who having been walking longer, we are to reach out to these young believers so they do not fall away. All believers will need some level of mentoring to continue to grow in their faith. | |
| Evangelism | |
| Most men feel uncomfortable with the word "evangelism." We only have to look to Christs last words on earth before he was taken up into heaven, "Go into all the world making disciples of all men baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Uncomfortably or not it is a command of our lord to spread his word. Teaching men different methods and giving them tools to do so is the one main responsibility of the church. | |
| Prayer groups | |
| Prayer is the catalyst for all of the work of the church. when we come together in agreement and prayer we will know God's will for our lives. | |
