I have my parents to thank for my faith. They brought me up in a loving
Christian home and took me to a wonderful church where the seeds of salvation
were planted. When I was 6 years old, I invited Christ into my heart and gladly
accepted the forgiveness that He had poured out on the cross. My teenage years
where nurtured in a great youth group where I formed many of the friendships I
still lean on today. As I reached my late teens and early twenties, I went
through the rebellion that so many of us have experienced. I thought that I
would be able to rely on myself and the world to accomplish the things I felt I
needed in my life. Boy, was I wrong! I came crashing back into God's arms one
Sunday night during the Christmas season of 1996. I can't say that the road
hasn't been rocky at times since then but it has been a lot easier to navigate
with His guidance. God helped me through one of the darkest times of my life in
November, 1998. I was celebrating one year of employment with the fire
department, when I got a call that a dear child in my life had been called home
to heaven. My heart was broken. God began to heal my heart when I met a
wonderful woman named Vanessa. After a very short courtship, we fell in love and
were married in March, 1999. She has blessed my heart immeasurably over these
past years as I have seen her faith grow and have watched her become a wonderful
woman of God. She and I have been blessed with the two most beautiful little
girls in the world, Madelyn, and Audrey. (there is nothing quite like two Daddy's girls!) And we are
now working to raise them in the same type of Godly, loving home that I was
raised in.
I hope with all of your support, that I am able to handle the responsibilities that God has brought to my
life with this ministry. I hope that we, at Mens Prayer Network, will be a
blessing to your life.
God Bless,
Joe G. Rice III
